Ravindra Jadeja was first signed by Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural season of IPL and had played a significant role as his franchise won the Cup that year.

In the first IPL season, he scored 135 runs from 14 matches. In 2009, he bettered his performance of the previous year by scoring 295 runs at a strike rate of 110.95 and taking 6 wickets at an economy rate of only 6.47.

He earned the praise from Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne, who gave him the nickname ‘Superstar’.

Jadeja was barred from playing the 2010 season due to contractual irregularities, and in the following season he was bought by Kochi Tuskers Kerala for a whopping Rs 9.2 crore.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bought him for Rs 9.72 crore. During CSK’s 2-year suspension, he played for Gujarat Lions.

In the 191 matches he has played so far in the various editions of IPL, Jadeja has scored 2290 runs at an average of 26.63 and a strike rate of 128.15

he has taken 120 wickets at an average of 30.26 and an economy rate of 7.63.

He has had three four-wicket and one five-wicket hauls, and his best bowling performance of 5 for 16 came in the 2012 edition of IPL.
